Sierra Mesh is a group of amateur radio enthusiasts who want to create an off-grid communication using inexpensive, low-power, mesh nodes. A great project spearheading this technology is Meshtastic®.

What is it?

Sierra Mesh utilizes Meshtastic radios that do not require internet, cellular, or even grid power to operate. This allows for complete off-grid operation. The "mesh" is fault-tolerant of individual nodes dropping offline by bouncing messages between other nodes in the network.
